Acne Diet Development: Creating the Diet that is Right for Your Skin and Your Stomach

0

Many people could benefit from an acne diet. Hasn’t everybody heard that chocolate will give you pimples? Everybody has. So it doesn’t seem so crazy that by watching what you eat could prevent a break out.

Nevertheless, a good acne diet is not easy to develop. This type of diet is highly personal since is is based on each individual’s response to foods. There are guidelines, but your progress will largely be trial and error. Watch your skin carefully. Write a journal. You might even try taking pictures with your cameral a few times a week. If and when your skin clears, stick to the diet that you were using at that time.

Here are some guidelines to get you started on an acne diet:

* 1. Increase your protein intake - Many dermatologists are under the belief that protein is connected with clearer skin. The reason for this belief is because protein has an enzyme that will limit the production of oils. Oily skin is very vulnerable to breakouts.

* Don’t eat carbs - You don’t have to completely cut carbs out. But you should keep them limited to about 40 percent of your diet. This is because carbohydrates can stimulate oil production. For this reason common knowledge indicates that junk food causes acne. But actually junk food just is pretty high in carbs.

* Consume green tea - Drinking the real stuff is the best. The best type of green tea is the kind you brew at home. You really may not like the real green tea so the natural green tea drinks will work Green tea will limit the creation of androgen. Androgen is a hormone that will cause your skin to breakout.

* Limit your total intake of salt - Most salt contains iodine. This is why table salt is usually called “iodized salt.” For some people with acne, iodine can be a major inflammatory agent.

While watching what you eat, you should also be very careful with what you put on your face. You should know what ingredients are in your beauty products if you have acne. Use oil free moisturizers and organic skin care products. These are least likely to cause a breakout. Consider switching over to mineral makeup. If you want to enhance your acne diet and reduce breakouts, you may want to try mineral makeup.
