Bath Tub Chairs Give Added Safety and Care For Your Infirm or Obese Parents

0

Tub chairs can be of great benefit to the elderly and disabled. Bath tub chairs ensure that their occupants are safe from the possibility of slipping in the shower or being stuck in a bath tub. Nurses and caregivers can use these chairs to bathe patients.

The bottoms of all tub chairs have properties that prevent slipping. A large proportion of tub chairs come with a robust handle. A safe bathing experience for people who are physically frail requires more safety measures.

In order for patients to be as safe as possible, slip resistant appliques should be added to the bottom of the tub. The chance of any untoward bathroom accident can be further reduced by using handrails on the inside and outside of the tub. Check out dementia care homes for additional tips on caring safely for infirm people.

Some tub chairs also feature seats, which can slide for easier movement. These have a starting point outside the bath. The seat can be slid over the bath by the occupant or the caregiver. This further reduces the risk of the patient slipping in the bath tub. There are several specialist companies on the internet that make tub chairs, that the ship worldwide.

Some types of tub chairs are customized for very heavy individuals. These chairs allow overweight people to clean themselves much better than they otherwise would be able to. It is a well-known fact that a mop bath, which is seen, as an alternative to a normal bath, does not remove bacteria from the skin folds effectively. Accumulated bacteria can, among other problems, cause infections.

Another variety of tub seats caters to people who cannot sit up by themselves. These specially designed seats can tilt back in the range of forty-five to ninety degrees. Usually they also have belts to keep the patient from falling. These chairs thus ensure safe baths for their occupants, who otherwise would be left with the option of using sponge in bed.
