say you want to benefit from the tax credit passed by congress recently then take a few minutes to go through this article. I will mention some important facts to consider when dealing with a contractor.
Previously I shared on topics like:window replacement company review, Window Replacement Companies and house window company.
many of the replacement window companies will not assist you understand the tax credit benefit should you decide to replace your windows. I have written this article to try and help you understand the concept and to be in a better position to deal with any contractor.
The idea of giving tax credit benefits to people who install energy efficient windows has always existed. However, recently the benefit was tripled to 30% of the cost of an energy efficient window. Whilst it also applies to doors my focus is only on windows for now.
What this implies is that when choosing the replacement windows for your home you have to pick cautiously. Usually replacement window companies play a crucial role in helping homeowners in this regard hence the need to get the right contractor.
Some of the issues the company should walk you through include the specific conditions that qualify a window as energy efficient. This includes, the new energy start certification, the U-Factor, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), NFRC Rating and more. NFRC stands for National Fenestration Rating Council. One thing I should statehere is that if a window does not have the NFRC sticker then in most cases it is not energy efficient.
When working with replacement window companies or contractors, always request them to show you the sticker. If they fail to do so don’t buy their recommended window and do not use their services. There are plenty more conrtacrors that you can consider and hire. So to cash in on the tax credit benefit in 2009 you need to be a clever shopper.
